Toronto Rocks Rhino/Wea, 119 minutes DVD, June 29, 2004 Recorded at Downsview Park, Toronto, Canada, July 30, 2003 Click here for news and additional information
A pared down DVD release of "Molson Canadian Rocks For Toronto", an all day benefit concert for Toronto's SARS-depressed economy held July 30th, 2003, the DVD includes six songs by the Rolling Stones, and between one to three songs from the remaining performers. Each performer was sent a tape of their performance, and allowed to choose their favorites: Rush chose "Limelight", "Freewill" and "The Spirit of Radio" with the "Paint It, Black" intro (absent from their 35 minute set are "Tom Saywer", "Dreamline", "YYZ" & "Closer To The Heart"). Included in the bonus footage is Peart's meeting the Stones' drummer, Charlie Watts, who eagerly watched Neil Peart from the wings during Rush's set. A two disk set in Canada, the DVD was released as a single disk elsewhere by cutting out some of the lesser known Canadian talent. All artists agreed to donate all DVD sales revenue to several charities, especially those related to the SARS outbreak (benefitting hospitality and health workers).

A four-disc box set containing DVD reissues of the Exit…Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and A Show Of Hands concert videos; all three shows mirror the original VHS releases. Each DVD features new 5.1 surround sound and stereo mixes created by Alex Lifeson and Mike Fraser from the original concert multi-tracks as well as digitally transferred and remastered visuals. The package also includes a first time in print Grace Under Pressure CD soundtrack, plus mini reprints of the original tour booklets for the three concerts.
Although the original laserdisc version of A Show Of Hands included "Lock And Key" (see original entry above), producer Pierre Lamoureux, who worked on the DVD package, reportedly said that he was not even aware that "Lock and Key" was originally included on the Laserdisc.
Copies purchased at Best Buy have an exclusive version of the Grace Under Pressure audio disk with four undocumented bonus tracks tacked onto the end, with no mention of the bonus tracks at all other than the Best Buy sticker on the wrapper. The four bonus tracks are: "Limelight" and "Closer To The Heart" (both from the ESL video soundtrack), and "The Spirit Of Radio" and "Tom Sawyer" (both from the ASOH video soundtrack). Three of these tracks were previously unavailable on vinyl or CD; "Limelight" was previously released on King Biscuit Flower Hour's Best of the Best: 25 Years of Rock (live). Note: the bonus version of "Closer To The Heart" was recorded during the Moving Pictures tour, the version found on the ESL album was recorded during the Permanent Waves tour (with the "Glaswegian Chorus"!).

Anatomy Of A Drum Solo
Hudson Music, feature run time 202 minutes
DVD, December 7, 2005
Neil Peart's second instructional drum video
Click here for news and additional information
Disc 1 (Anatomy Of A Drum Solo): Der Trommler (recorded September, 2004, Frankfurt), Neil’s analysis and discussion of Der Trommler and of his approach to soloing; Hamburg solo ("Ich Bin Ein Hamburger"); "Exploration #1"; "Der Trommler" multi-angle drum-cam; "The Rhythm Method" excerpt from A Show Of Hands; The Making of Paragon; Bonus audio-only tracks of "Momo’s Dance Party" and "Pieces of Eight".
Disc 2: Exploration #2; "O Baterista" (solo from Rush in Rio); solo from Rush’s 1994 Counterparts Tour recorded March 27, 1994 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan; Rush performing "Tom Sawyer" and "Subdivisions" in Frankfurt, September, 2004 from the perspective of the drum cameras; Interview with Paul Northfield and Lorne Wheaton; setting up Neil's drums with Lorne Wheaton; solo transcription pdf; photo gallery; web links.
"Hamburg...we did play really well that night, and for me, the solo was particulary strong, confident and inventive, one of the best of the tour. After I ended it with the big gong sample (the only possible conclusion to all that bonbast), I climbed down and sat behind the dryers during the acoustic interlude. Gump gave me his rare praise, 'Nice one, man,' and I said 'Why wasn't that one caught on film?' Gump must have talked to the video crew about that, because at the next show, Bob from the video crew gave me a DVD of the Hamburg show. It was only an arbitrary view from a couple of their cameras, and a rough mix off the board, but still - at least it was captured. (And would appear on Anatomy of a Drum Solo, as a 'sidebar.')" - Neil Peart, Roadshow
- "'Rock drummers killed the solo themselves,' Peart tells me when we meet at a coffee shop in Santa Monica. 'It got to be so predictable and manipulative. They cheapened it by making it a clap-along or a boring ramble.' ...one section of Peart's 'Der Trommler' solo...is something like playing badminton with two rackets while typing with your feet." - "The Big Bang", latimes.com, Jan. 22, 2006
